Our Earth needs a wide diversity of useful animals more than ever. For each of our useful animal species, there are a number of strongly dominant breeds, as described in all technical books. The numerous other breeds - remnant populations of old rural breeds, exotic breeds from other countries or types - are hardly ever even mentioned. This book draws your attention to them, and shows their value and importance for retaining diversity in breeding. Prof. Dr. Hans Hinrich Sambraus ist Tierarzt, Zoologe und emeritierter Professor für Tierhaltung und Verhaltenskunde an der TU München. Er ist Mitbegründer der "Gesellschaft zur Erhaltung alter und gefährdeter Haustierrassen" (GEH).
